Katsina Residents Advocate for Jobs and Security Funding

On July 18, 2026, a town hall meeting was held across 361 wards in Katsina State as part of the preparation for the 2027 budget. Organized by the Katsina State Government, the meeting aimed to reflect the needs and aspirations of the residents.

Hon. Malik Ana, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, stated that the initiative was part of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda's commitment to inclusive governance, allowing citizens to voice their opinions on public resource allocation. The town hall meeting attracted a significant turnout, with thousands of residents participating, including community leaders, women, youth, traditional rulers, and civil society organizations.

The discussions focused on addressing pressing community needs, particularly the creation of job opportunities and enhanced security funding, especially for the youth. This exercise follows a similar successful initiative held for the 2026 budget, demonstrating the administration's dedication to grassroots participation in governance.
