DLA Affirms Adebisi Olusoji as 2027 Presidential Candidate

The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has officially affirmed Adebisi Olusoji as its presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 general election. This decision was made during a substitution primary held at the party's secretariat in Osogbo on Thursday, where delegates confirmed his candidacy through a voice vote.

The affirmation followed the withdrawal of the previous candidate, Barrister Samuel Memeh. Olalekan Fabayo, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, stated that the substitution primary was conducted in accordance with the Electoral Act 2026 to fill the vacancy created by Memeh's withdrawal.

Dr Tosin Odeyemi, the Osun State Chairman of the DLA, emphasized that Olusoji's emergence signifies the party's commitment to offering Nigerians a new political alternative, moving beyond the established political parties like the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The DLA plans to build its political structure around credible leadership and aims to actively scrutinize the activities of the Osun State government under Governor Ademola Adeleke.
