DLA Affirms Adebisi Olusoji as Presidential Candidate

The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has officially affirmed Adebisi Olusoji as its presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 general election. This decision was made during a substitution primary held at the party’s secretariat in Osogbo on Thursday, where delegates confirmed Olusoji's candidacy through a voice vote.

The affirmation followed the withdrawal of the previous candidate, Barrister Samuel Memeh. Olalekan Fabayo, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, stated that the substitution was a constitutional requirement in line with the Electoral Act 2026.

Dr Tosin Odeyemi, the Osun State Chairman of the DLA, remarked that Olusoji's emergence signifies the party's commitment to providing Nigerians with a new political alternative, moving beyond the established leadership styles of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The DLA aims to build a political structure centered on credible leadership and a clear vision, with Olusoji's affirmation serving as a launchpad for the party’s broader political agenda in Osun ahead of 2030.
