DLA Presidential Hopeful Akinnadeju Resigns Over Primaries

Abisayo Busari Akinnadeju, a presidential hopeful for the 2027 elections representing the Democrat Leadership Alliance (DLA), has resigned from the party, citing unfair primary processes. In her resignation letter addressed to the party chairman, she requested a refund of her presidential nomination fee, stating that the DLA could not conduct free and fair primaries.

Akinnadeju expressed her disappointment with the party's leadership and the lack of a consensual candidate decision, which she believes hinders the party's growth. She emphasized that her resignation is effective immediately and that she will not support a process that does not adhere to fair contest principles.

Akinnadeju, hailing from Akungba Akoko in Ondo State, underscored her commitment to the presidential race and the need for credible leadership in Nigeria, stating that the recent developments within the party have confirmed her decision to step away.
