DLA Rejects Abisayo Modup's Claims of Screening Irregularities

The Democrat Leadership Alliance (DLA) has dismissed allegations made by Abisayo Modup, a female presidential aspirant, concerning irregularities in the party's presidential screening process. DLA's president, Samuel Memeh, stated that Modup was unfairly excluded from the screening, but the party insisted that her disqualification followed established procedures and guidelines.

In a statement signed by Deputy National Public Secretary Judith Aguenu, DLA described Modup's claims as false and misleading. The party clarified that Modup participated in the screening exercise but failed to secure the necessary clearance from relevant party organs.

DLA emphasized that three aspirants, including Modup, had duly purchased nomination forms and participated in the screening process, which complied with the party's constitutional guidelines. Furthermore, DLA noted that no aspirant raised complaints regarding the transparency and fairness of the nomination screening process, and Modup's allegations were made publicly without utilizing the internal mechanisms available for challenging her disqualification.
