ADC Urges Judiciary to Protect Nigeria's Democracy

Oladimeji Fabiyi, who serves as the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made a statement on Tuesday during an interview with Trust TV. He urged the judiciary to refrain from aiding President Bola Tinubu in actions that could potentially destroy Nigeria's democracy.

This call came in reaction to a recent ruling by the appeal court that upheld an order to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Fabiyi emphasized that the judiciary should not allow itself to be manipulated into undermining democracy, warning that the situation could lead to serious military intervention.

He expressed concern that the judiciary is at risk of being ridiculed and has fallen into a state of disarray. Fabiyi asserted that the ADC would remain active and engaged, regardless of the court's decisions, and called for a collective understanding among Nigerians regarding the current political situation.
