ADC Candidates from Four States Join APC to Support Tinubu

On September 28, 2026, several former House of Assembly candidates from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara, Plateau, Taraba, and Jigawa states announced their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. The delegation, led by Princess Aslam Aliyu Gambiyar from Zamfara State, visited the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, at the party's national secretariat in Abuja.

Gambiyar stated that the group left the ADC due to their belief in President Bola Tinubu's administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing readiness to work towards Tinubu's re-election. Yilwatda welcomed the defectors, urging them to engage in grassroots mobilization within their wards.

He assured them that their contributions would be recognized and communicated to President Tinubu. Yilwatda also defended the Tinubu administration's development efforts in Northern Nigeria and its economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, emphasizing the need for reforms to address economic challenges.
