ADC's Court Victory: A Win for Democracy in Nigeria

The Court of Appeal nullified a previous judgment from the Federal High Court that aimed to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Senator David Mark, the National Chairman of the ADC, praised the appellate court's ruling as a significant victory for Nigeria's democracy, constitutionalism, and the rule of law.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, Mark emphasized that the judgment restores confidence in the judiciary and affirms its role as a protector of democratic values. He condemned the attempt to deregister the ADC as an attack on multiparty democracy and the constitutional rights of citizens.

Mark commended the Justices of the Court of Appeal for their impartiality and courage, stating that the ruling strengthens public confidence in democratic institutions. He urged ADC members and supporters to remain united and focused on the party's mission for the 2027 general elections, reaffirming the ADC's commitment to democracy and good governance.
