Atiku Abubakar Appoints Kenneth Okonkwo as ADC Spokesperson

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, appointed actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo as the campaign spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday. This appointment comes as the ADC intensifies preparations for the 2027 presidential elections.

Okonkwo confirmed his appointment via a statement on his verified account, expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him by Atiku. He pledged to discharge his duties with integrity and highlighted the importance of dialogue and compromise in resolving political disagreements.

Okonkwo, who previously served as the spokesperson for the Labour Party's presidential campaign council, aims to strengthen confidence among party stakeholders and address political interests in the South East region. He openly criticized reports suggesting the party might consider a vice-presidential candidate from the South South, arguing that such a decision would further marginalize the South East.

Okonkwo acknowledged the contributions of various party leaders and called for continued support from Nigerians as the ADC prepares for the upcoming elections.
