TIF Partners for Credible 2027 Elections in Nigeria

The TIF organization, represented by Bayo Averehi, is actively seeking partnerships with various stakeholders to ensure that the 2027 general elections in Nigeria are credible, free, and fair. Averehi stated that the organization is intensifying engagement with political parties, civil society organizations, and electoral observers to promote peace and transparency in the electoral process, aligning with international democratic standards.

He described the upcoming elections as a crucial test for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and urged the electoral body to strengthen public confidence by conducting elections transparently and peacefully, devoid of malpractice. Averehi noted that the 2027 elections present an opportunity for INEC to reassure Nigerians and the international community of its commitment to credible elections.

TIF plans to leverage technology to enhance transparency, particularly in the real-time transmission of results from polling units. The organization aims to establish a coalition among major opposition parties and civil society to jointly monitor the electoral process, emphasizing collaboration to strengthen the electoral system's credibility.
