INEC to Start PVC Collection on October 9, 2026

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that it will commence the nationwide collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on October 9, 2026, in preparation for the 2027 general elections. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, stated that the commission has completed the three-phase Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and the final Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) cleanup of the voters’ register, which now contains over 103 million voters.

For those who registered during the CVR exercise, INEC has established an online platform for voters to check their names on the register and verify their voter information. Voters are encouraged to ensure their registration details are accurate.

Additionally, INEC's voter portal offers services for updating voter information, transferring registration, and replacing lost or damaged PVCs. The commission has scheduled a period for eligible voters to inspect the register and raise claims or objections.

Newly produced PVCs will be available for collection starting October 9.
