Kwara Assembly Endorses Yakubu Danladi for Governor 2027

On Monday, the Kwara State House of Assembly unanimously endorsed Yakubu Danladi Salihu as the preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election. This decision was announced during a press conference held at the Assembly complex in Ilorin.

Abdulkadir Magaji, representing Ilorin Central Constituency, dismissed allegations regarding the lack of a primary election, stating that valid primary elections were conducted with participation from party members and stakeholders. He emphasized that claims to the contrary were misleading.

Magaji reaffirmed support for Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and praised his administration's developmental efforts across the state. Lawal Arinola Fatimoh, representing Ilorin East Constituency, acknowledged Danladi's leadership experience and qualities necessary for governance.

The lawmakers concluded by urging APC members and stakeholders to remain united and committed to democratic principles and peaceful political engagement as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
