NAF Enhances ISR for 2027 Election Security Support

On Tuesday in Abuja, Air Chief Marshal Sadiq Anek revealed that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is positioning its Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to enhance situational awareness during the upcoming 2027 elections. During a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Anek stated that NAF's capabilities would assist in early detection of potential security threats and support timely responses from relevant agencies.

He emphasized the importance of INEC in conducting free and fair elections, reinforcing public confidence in Nigeria's democratic system. Anek highlighted the NAF's commitment to providing security support, including rapid airlift and distribution of electoral materials across the country.

He noted that the NAF is prepared to collaborate with security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, to protect critical electoral infrastructure. INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan acknowledged the NAF's crucial role in facilitating a smooth electoral process, particularly in addressing logistical challenges during the elections.
