INEC Logistics Support for 2027 Elections Assured by Air Chief

During a visit to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, Air Chief Marshal Kelvin Anek, the Chief of Air Staff, expressed confidence that INEC could achieve its logistics targets for the 2027 general elections with proper collaboration. He emphasized the Nigerian Air Force's commitment to supporting INEC by transporting electoral materials and ensuring security throughout the electoral process.

Anek noted that the Air Force would utilize its C-130 aircraft, currently undergoing scheduled maintenance abroad, to facilitate the rapid airlift and distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials across the country. He also highlighted the Air Force's intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities to enhance electoral security.

INEC Chairman Amupitan acknowledged the Air Force's crucial role in past elections and expressed appreciation for their continued support. The 2027 general elections are scheduled for January 16 for presidential and national assembly elections, and February 16 for governorship and state assembly elections.
