Nigerian Air Force Partners with INEC for 2027 Elections

On Tuesday, the Nigerian Air Force, under the leadership of Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sundai Kelvin Anek, announced a partnership with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to bolster logistics and security for the upcoming 2027 elections. During a visit to INEC headquarters in Abuja, Air Marshal Anek stated that the Air Force is fully mobilizing its aircraft, including surveillance drones and intelligence assets, to support the electoral process.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring that electoral materials and personnel are secure, particularly in remote areas of the country. The Air Force is preparing to deploy heavy haul and medium-range aircraft to facilitate the rapid transport of sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials across Nigeria, addressing the logistical challenges posed by the country's difficult terrain.

Anek assured that the Air Force is ready to provide intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) support, including the use of unmanned aerial vehicles to monitor sensitive locations during the elections.
