PDP Will Win 2027 Elections with Jonathan, Says Agbedi

Fred Agbedi, the House of Representatives Minority Leader, expressed optimism regarding the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) prospects in the 2027 general elections, asserting that the party would secure victory if former President Goodluck Jonathan appears on the ballot. Agbedi made this statement during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Monday.

He acknowledged the ongoing challenges within the PDP but emphasized the party's resilience. Although Jonathan has not officially declared his candidacy for 2027, Agbedi noted that he has not dismissed the possibility either.

The selection of the PDP's presidential candidate remains undecided, with discussions ongoing between the Wike faction and the Turaki faction. The Independent National Electoral Commission has received nominations from the Taminu Turaki faction of the PDP, and it stated that nominations must be processed through its designated online portal in accordance with electoral regulations.
