Peter Obi Advocates for Fair Elections in Rivers State

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), asserted that the votes of the people of Rivers State must count in the upcoming 2027 elections. Speaking on Friday via his 𝕏 account, Obi made this declaration following a town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, where he was welcomed by the NDC's Governorship Candidate in Rivers State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, and other party members.

He noted that the town hall facilitated an engaging dialogue on pressing issues such as jobs, healthcare, education, security, and economic opportunities. Obi reiterated his commitment to investing in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.

He observed a renewed commitment among Rivers State residents to participate in the elections and emphasized the need for credible electoral processes. Obi stated, “Let it be recorded that this time around, the people of Rivers State will vote, and their votes MUST count,” and called for Rivers State to set an example for free and fair elections in 2027.

He acknowledged the support of NDC leaders and reiterated his mission to rescue Nigeria and restore hope.
