ADC Confident in Atiku Abubakar for 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue State has expressed strong confidence in their presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for the upcoming 2027 presidential election. This assertion was made by the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Herman Hembe, during an announcement in Makurdi on Thursday, where he introduced his deputy gubernatorial candidate, John Abba.

Hembe had previously established a committee to select the deputy candidate shortly after his own candidacy was confirmed. He noted that the selection process was transparent and endorsed by the party’s national chairman, Senator David Mark.

Hembe stated that the ADC's analysis indicates that votes from the southern region will be divided between Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu, suggesting that neither will surpass Atiku in the northern geopolitical zones. He urged party members to work diligently for all candidates in the presidential election, predicting a positive bandwagon effect for the gubernatorial election.

Hembe also committed to serving only one term to complete the eight years for the Jechira zone and facilitate a transition to the Benue South senatorial district.
