INEC and NOA Collaborate for Credible Elections in Osun

Prof. Joash Amupitan, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared that a robust democracy cannot be built in isolation and requires partnership with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) for effective voter education.

He made this statement during a press conference in Abuja, emphasizing that voter education is not a secondary option but an absolute necessity. Mr.

Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, affirmed INEC's commitment to delivering free, fair, credible, and inclusive elections that accurately reflect the will of the people. With 1,954,800 registered voters in Osun State, preparations for the 2026 governorship election are underway, focusing on ensuring credible and peaceful elections.

Amupitan noted the importance of understanding local cultural nuances and addressing voter apathy to enhance electoral participation.
