Kwankwaso Urges Yari to Reject APC Campaign Role

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Party (NDC), has called on Senator Abdul’aziz Yari to rethink his acceptance of the role as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections. In a statement made on Sunday, Kwankwaso expressed that the APC campaign council's composition indicates a continuation of the current administration under President Bola Tinubu, which he claims has led to significant hardship for Nigerians.

He highlighted issues such as rising food costs, unemployment, insecurity, and the pressure on essential services. Kwankwaso emphasized that the upcoming election should be a chance for Nigerians to reject ongoing oppression and demand accountable governance.

He specifically appealed to Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, to reflect on the implications of leading a campaign that supports an administration associated with these challenges. Additionally, he raised concerns about the involvement of senior officials from critical public institutions in the campaign's financial structures.
