Speaker Abbas Tajudeen Announces 2027 Re-election Bid

On Saturday, Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, declared his intention to seek re-election for a fifth consecutive term in 2027. Tajudeen, who first entered the House in 2011, made this announcement at an event held at the Emir Zazzau Palace in Zaria, where various solidarity groups gathered to support him.

He has previously won re-election in 2015, 2019, and 2023. During his address to a large crowd, which included students, women’s groups, and youth organizations, he emphasized the need for continued representation and leadership in the National Assembly.

Tajudeen called for sustained support from his constituents, highlighting the importance of addressing community needs such as security, infrastructure, and education. Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu praised Tajudeen’s leadership qualities, while Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani acknowledged his contributions to the community.

The event saw thousands of supporters, despite challenges posed by flooding in the area.
