Students Demand Accountability from Political Parties for 2027

The National Association of Nigerian Students, Zone A, stated that students will not automatically endorse any political party or presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, emphasizing that support must be earned through measurable performance and credible commitments. During a press conference in Kaduna, the association announced plans to form a 10-member Student Political Performance and Accountability Assessment Committee.

This committee will evaluate political leaders and platforms on critical issues such as education, student financing, welfare, youth employment, campus security, skills development, innovation, entrepreneurship, infrastructure, research, and human-capital development. National Vice-President, External Affairs, Sadiq Zango, stated that the assessment will focus on evidence and measurable outcomes, avoiding biases related to ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.

Zango reiterated that NANS Zone A has not endorsed any candidate or party and that future positions will emerge from proper consultation and collective interests of Nigerian students.
