APC Urges Abia Leaders to Win Polls for Federal Roles

On August 23, 2023, during a reconciliation meeting at the APC secretariat in Umuahia, Abia State, APC Chairman Chijioke Chukwu informed party leaders and stakeholders that they must secure their polling units, wards, or constituencies in the upcoming 2027 elections to be considered for federal appointments. Chukwu stated that the party would assess the performance of its members based on the electoral outcomes in their respective areas.

He announced that results from these polling units would be published after the elections, allowing the national leadership to evaluate performance. Chukwu warned that reliance on connections in Abuja without delivering electoral results would not guarantee federal appointments.

He emphasized the need for unity and commitment among party members, urging them to prioritize the party's interests over personal ambitions. The APC's main goal is to ensure victory for President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in Abia State during the 2027 elections.
