Jordan Wike Denies $2.1M Land Deal Allegations in Court

On September 30, during a court session at the FCT High Court in Abuja, Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, denied allegations related to a $2.1 million land dispute. He rejected claims made by the claimants, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, asserting he did not receive any money or sign any documents for a land deal.

The claimants alleged that Jordan demanded $2.1 million to facilitate the acquisition of two parcels of land in the Katampe and Guzape districts, with $2 million intended for the FCT Minister and $100,000 as Jordan's facilitation fee. Jordan stated he was unaware of the claimants and did not know an individual named Onor Sandy, who was alleged to have accompanied him during the transaction.

He maintained he was outside Nigeria at the time of the alleged payment and produced his American passport in court to support his claim. Justice Sylvanus Oriji granted an application to retain a copy of the passport for court records.
