Bauchi Man Stabbed to Death During Fight in Metropolis

On 22nd August 2026, at approximately 2300hrs, a report of culpable homicide was received by the Bauchi State Police Command regarding a fight in the Bayan Bata area of Bauchi metropolis, which resulted in the death of 25-year-old Moh’d Musa. According to Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, a preliminary investigation indicated that an altercation occurred between Musa and Abubakar Abdullahi, known as ‘Dan Iya’.

During the fight, Abdullahi allegedly used a knife to stab Musa. The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

Police operatives from the ‘A’ Division Township responded promptly, arresting the suspect and recovering the knife used in the incident. The victim's body has been placed in the hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The suspect is currently in custody, and the case will be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and potential prosecution, as directed by Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu.
