Bandit Attack in Kebbi: Four Dead, Soldier Missing

In a recent attack by bandits on farmers in Kebbi, four individuals were killed, including two forest guards and two locals, while a soldier was reported missing. The incident occurred during a gun duel between the bandits and security personnel.

Hussaini Aliyu Bena, the Chairman of Danko Wasagu Local Government, confirmed the details to journalists, clarifying that contrary to earlier reports, no soldier was killed. He noted that many bandits were also killed during the encounter, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

Bena attributed the ongoing security challenges in the area to the presence of bandit camps in neighboring states, specifically Zamfara and Niger. He urged local communities to remain calm as the state government, in collaboration with security agencies and the local government, is strategizing to restore peace and address the incessant attacks and kidnappings.

The state police command’s public relations officer, SP Bashir Usman, was unavailable for comment regarding the attack.
