Rivers Police Arrest Man for Defiling Two Minors

The Rivers State Police Command arrested a 50-year-old man identified as Godwin for allegedly defiling two minors, aged 13 and 11, in Ogale, Eleme Local Government Area. The arrest occurred on Monday after the parents of the girls lodged a formal complaint.

Cletus, the father of the older minor, reported that Godwin would send the children on errands and then invite them into his room, where he would lock the door, increase the music volume, and sexually assault them. Following the incidents, Godwin allegedly threatened the girls to prevent them from disclosing the abuse.

Blessing Agabe, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command and an Assistant Superintendent of Police, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing. The police have issued a medical form for the girls to undergo examination to verify the allegations, and they are awaiting the results to determine if there was penetration, which would lead to further legal action.
