Rivers Man Arrested for Alleged Defilement of Minors

The Rivers State Police Command arrested a 50-year-old man identified as Godwin for allegedly defiling two minors, aged 13 and 11, in Ogale, Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State. The arrest occurred on Monday following a formal complaint from the parents of the girls.

The father of the older minor, Cletus, reported that Godwin would send the children on errands and then invite them into his room, where he would lock the door, increase the music volume, and sexually assault them. Cletus also alleged that Godwin threatened the girls to ensure they did not disclose the incidents.

Blessing Agabe, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the arrest and stated that the investigation is ongoing. The police have issued a medical form for the girls to undergo examinations to determine if penetration occurred, which will influence the case's progression to the appropriate bureau.
