Chinese National Arrested for Alleged Rape in Ogun State Quarry Site

In a concerning incident, a 59-year-old Chinese national was apprehended over the alleged rape of a woman at a quarry site in Kobap area, Ogun State. The arrest, prompted by a victim's complaint, saw the suspect swiftly taken into custody.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran for detailed investigations. This arrest comes amidst growing worries about criminal activities involving foreign nationals.

Notably, in July 2025, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency arrested another Chinese national, Liang Tak, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for attempting to smuggle synthetic cannabis into the country from Bangkok, Thailand.
