Seven Dead in Katsina and Kaduna Bandit Attacks

In a series of violent incidents in Katsina and Kaduna states, seven residents and two police officers were killed. The attacks occurred in the Sayaya community of Katsina State, where armed groups have increasingly targeted local populations.

The violence coincided with a withdrawal of troops, leading to heightened fears among residents. Major General Abubakar Rabe was abducted alongside his wife, Hajiya Amina, on May 30, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by bandits, particularly linked to notorious kingpin Kachallah Muhammad Fulani.

Residents expressed their grief and frustration, stating that they feel abandoned by security forces. The Kaduna State Police Command reported that two officers were killed in an ambush while attempting to rescue kidnap victims.

The community leaders are urging both state and federal governments to take decisive action to restore safety and prevent further tragedies, emphasizing the need for a permanent solution to the rampant insecurity affecting their lives.
