Two Kaduna Policemen Killed in Bandit Ambush

On June 24, 2026, at 12:45 PM, the Kaduna State Police Command received credible intelligence about 15 armed bandits attacking farmers near Unguwan Sa Idu Village, close to Birnin Gwari town. A combined security team, including personnel from the police and the Kaduna State Vigilante Service, was mobilized for a rescue mission.

They successfully rescued nine kidnapping victims identified as Hudu Rabiu (31), Yusuf Sagir (20), Sagir Rabiu (17), Muhammad Kabir (23), Kabir Lawal (20), Idri Abubakar (17), Mustapha Zayyanu (18), Kabiru Rabiu (18), and Usman Lawal (18). However, during their return, the security team was ambushed by bandits, resulting in the deaths of two police officers.

The Kaduna State Police Command, led by Commissioner Rabiu Muhammad, expressed condolences to the families of the fallen officers and reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing security operations in the region.
