8th Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Tournament Set for 2026

The 8th Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select pre-season tournament is confirmed to kick off on August 5, 2026, and will run until August 12, 2026. This highly anticipated tournament will feature Nigeria's elite teams and clubs from the second-tier leagues, including the Nigerian National League (NNL) and Nigerian National League Organization (NLO).

The previous edition of the tournament was held in Abia State, with group matches taking place in Enugu, culminating in a final where Enyimba International FC defeated Rangers International FC by a lone goal. The tournament, founded by former Super Eagles player Ifeanyi Ekwueme, is designed to allow clubs to test tactics and provide young players with opportunities to be scouted.

It is noted for offering vital opportunities to fine-tune tactics, build squad cohesion, and assess readiness for the upcoming season. The tournament aims to attract elite clubs, all of which have accepted the invitation to participate, and is expected to showcase football talent across Nigeria.
