Shehu Sani Condemns Killing of Miyetti Allah Leader in Benue

Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central, condemned the killing of Ardo Risku, a leader of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), and his son Ibrahim. The incident occurred as Ardo Risku was reportedly returning from a peace meeting in Benue.

In a statement made on Saturday, Sani described the murder as a dangerous precedent that could undermine reconciliation efforts in Benue and other parts of the country. He emphasized that such violence discourages participation in peace initiatives and frustrates dialogue aimed at resolving conflicts.

Sani called for a thorough investigation into the killings and urged authorities to ensure that those responsible are prosecuted. He stated that voluntary agreements to sit at the negotiation table would not contribute to peace if such violent acts continue without accountability.
