Gunmen Kill Miyetti Allah Chairman in Benue Attack

In Benue State, gunmen killed Ardo Risku Muhammad, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), and another person during an ambush in Okuku Village, Otukpo Local Government Area (LGA). The incident occurred on Friday night, raising significant tension in the community.

Yakubu Isah, the eldest son of Muhammad, confirmed the ambush and the death of his father. Maxwel Ogiri, the chairman of Otukpo LGA, urged residents to remain calm and assured that security operations would address the situation.

Adol Gabriel, the MACBAN state chairman, attended a peace meeting convened by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ohinmini LGA prior to the attack, which aimed to resolve ongoing tensions between communities. Udem Edet, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident and promised to release a statement regarding the attack soon.
