Gunmen Kill Benue Miyetti Allah Chairman in Ambush

Ardo Muhammad, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue State, was killed by gunmen alongside one other individual in an ambush on Friday. The attack occurred in the Otukpo Local Government Area, specifically when Muhammad and his companion were returning from a peace meeting convened by the Divisional Police Officer in Ohimini.
The ambush took place near the Okudu community, leading to the death of Muhammad, who was identified as the eldest son of a local leader. Maxwel Ogiri, the chairman of MACBAN in Otukpo, confirmed the incident, which has raised palpable tension in the surrounding communities.
Ogiri urged residents to remain calm as security operations were initiated to address the situation. Udem Edet, a spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, stated that they received reports of the incident and are currently investigating the matter.
