Alia Calls for Calm After Miyetti Allah Chairman's Killing

Hyacinth Alia, the Governor of Benue State, expressed deep shock and sadness regarding the alleged killing of Alhaji Ardo Risku, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN). In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia described the incident as a tragedy and a direct attempt to undermine the peace efforts in the state.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere and urged security agencies to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the killing. Alia expressed regret over the setback this incident represents for ongoing dialogue among various stakeholders in the state.

He called on members of MACBAN and the general public to remain calm and law-abiding, warning against allowing the situation to incite further violence. The governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Alhaji Ardo Risku and the entire MACBAN community, reaffirming the administration's commitment to peace in Benue State.
