AAC Demands Investigation into Kano Journalist's Murder

The African Action Congress (AAC) condemned the killing of Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu, a well-known Kano-based social media influencer and political commentator, who was murdered at his residence in Gaida, Kumbotso local government area of Kano State. Haruna Garba Magashi, the AAC's vice presidential candidate, expressed deep concern over the incident, highlighting that Dan Shagamu had previously alerted authorities about threats to his life and had requested protection from the Kano State Government and security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police.

Magashi criticized the government's inaction, questioning why adequate measures were not taken to ensure Dan Shagamu's safety. He emphasized that the AAC views the killing as unacceptable and urged against dismissing it as an ordinary crime without a thorough investigation.

The AAC demanded an immediate, transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder and the threats made against Dan Shagamu.
