Al-Mustapha Refutes DSS Officer's Claims on Abacha's Death

Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, who served as the Chief Security Officer to the late military ruler General Sani Abacha, has publicly dismissed claims made by former Department of State Services (DSS) officer Mr. Dennis Amachree concerning the final moments of Abacha.

Speaking to journalists in Kaduna on Saturday, Al-Mustapha asserted that Amachree's account, which is detailed in a book, is false and influenced by others. He stated, “The boy was asked by others to write those lies,” and claimed to have CCTV footage that accurately depicts the events surrounding Abacha's death, which he insists contradicts Amachree's assertions.

Al-Mustapha urged the public to disregard Amachree's claims, labeling them as unfair to someone who cannot defend themselves, and emphasized that it is inappropriate to make false statements about a deceased individual. However, he did not provide any specifics regarding the content of the footage.
