Amachree Challenges Al-Mustapha Over Abacha's Death Footage

Dennis Amachree, a former Assistant Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), has publicly challenged Hamza Al-Mustapha, the ex-Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State Gen. Sani Abacha, to release CCTV footage that allegedly documents the events surrounding Abacha's death.

This challenge arose after Al-Mustapha rejected claims made in Amachree's memoir, "DSS @ 40: My Journey Behind the Shield," which states that Abacha died in June 1998 from a cardiac arrest. Al-Mustapha accused Amachree of following a script written by others and claimed that the memoir's account was false.

Amachree defended his memoir's credibility, stating it underwent an internal review by the DSS and received approval before its release. He also highlighted that he was invited from the United States for the book's unveiling, attended by senior security officials.

Amachree refuted Al-Mustapha's derogatory remarks about him, emphasizing his higher rank as a retired assistant director compared to Al-Mustapha's rank of major.
