Abia Governor Otti Offers Support to Arrested Soldier

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has pledged medical assistance to Staff Sergeant Amok Simon, an injured soldier who was recently arrested in connection with alleged fraud. The announcement was made by Ferdinand Ekeoma, the governor's special adviser on media and public affairs, on Wednesday.

Ekeoma stated that the arrest was linked to past fraudulent activities and that the state government is cooperating with military authorities in the investigation. Otti's commitment to supporting military personnel stems from a compassionate approach, as he has previously extended financial support to families of security agents who have faced tragedies while on duty.

This includes recent financial aid to the family of a naval officer who died in an auto crash and support for the family of an immigration officer who was fatally stabbed. The governor emphasized that the state government will continue to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to victims of unfortunate incidents, regardless of the controversies surrounding Sergeant Amok's case.
