Abia State to Launch Mega Transport Terminal Soon

The Abia State Government, led by Governor Dr. Alex Otti, is set to begin operations at a newly constructed mega transport terminal in Umuahia within the next two weeks.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize the state's transport system and centralize commuter services. Dr.

Chimezi Ukaegbu, the Commissioner for Transport, disclosed this information during a stakeholder engagement meeting aimed at ensuring operational alignment with the government's relocation plan. The transport terminal is described as a major infrastructural milestone for Abia State, designed to transform transport services by providing a centralized hub for various modes of transport.

Prof. Obioma Nwogb, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport, expressed satisfaction with the project's progress, highlighting its uniqueness in the Southeast region.

The terminal is expected to enhance travel efficiency and urban mobility, with a focus on safety and effective management.
