Abia State Introduces 59 Football Stars to Europe

The Abia State Government announced plans to introduce 59 newly discovered football players to European clubs and the Nigerian football league. This initiative follows the conclusion of the Abia Soccer Fest competition, where Aba South LGA emerged victorious over Ukwa LGA with a score of 2-1.

The announcement was made at Enyimba Stadium in Aba during the final match of the tournament. Uzo Nwachukwu, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Nwadinma Ananaba, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, presented the state government's plans.

Football scouts from France, Serbia, and the Czech Republic attended the event to identify and recruit the best talents for European teams. The competition is part of the state government's talent discovery and skill development program, which included 159 matches over a six-month period.

Abia State Governor Alex Otti described the tournament as a celebration of talent, unity, and the limitless potential of Abia youth, while promising investments in youth development and sports infrastructure.
