AFAN Supports N1bn Security Fund by Northern Governors

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), represented by its National President Muhammad Magaji Gettado, has expressed strong support for the Northern Governors Forum's establishment of a N1 billion monthly security fund. This initiative is described as a bold intervention capable of restoring peace, reviving agricultural activities, and strengthening food security across Northern Nigeria.

AFAN commended the governors for their decisive action to confront the persistent security challenges affecting the region. The association welcomed the creation of a management board for the fund, expressing confidence in the selection of individuals with proven integrity and credibility to ensure transparent and accountable management of resources.

AFAN emphasized that insecurity remains one of the greatest threats to agricultural productivity, forcing farmers to abandon their lands and reducing output. The association urged its state chapters and cooperative societies to support the initiative and collaborate with security agencies to provide credible information to tackle criminal activities.
