NDC Urges Kwara Governor to Act on 176 Abductees

The Kwara State chapter of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to take immediate and decisive action to secure the release of 176 women and children who were abducted from the Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area. In a statement issued on Monday by Ibraheem Gbagba, the party expressed deep concern over the prolonged captivity of the victims, which has lasted for 158 days, describing it as a humanitarian tragedy that has caused untold emotional and psychological suffering for their families.

The NDC commended the recent successful rescue of abducted victims in Oyo State, attributing this success to coordinated efforts among state government, security agencies, and community leaders. They urged the Kwara State government to intensify rescue operations and establish a high-level intervention negotiation team to facilitate the safe return of the victims.

The NDC also called for increased security presence in vulnerable communities and regular updates for families regarding rescue efforts.
