Kwara Residents Protest Delay in Rescuing 176 Abductees

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party and residents of Kaiama Local Government Area have expressed their frustration over the delay in rescuing 176 women and children abducted during an attack on Woro community in February. Nearly six months have passed since the incident, and the victims remain in captivity.

On Friday, residents staged a peaceful protest in Kaiama, demanding immediate action from President Bola Tinubu, the state government, and security agencies. The Village Head of Woro, Umar Salihu, addressed the protesters, highlighting the emotional trauma and hardship faced by the families of the abductees.

He urged the authorities to intensify efforts for their release, emphasizing the unbearable nature of the prolonged captivity. M.
