Augustine Arrested for Stabbing Neighbor Over Meat Dispute

On 4 November 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Augustine was arrested for the alleged murder of his 21-year-old neighbor, Haggai Markus, in Adamawa State. The incident arose from a disagreement over roasted meat taken from a local butcher's table at Mararaban Vimtim.

During the altercation, Augustine allegedly stabbed Markus in the chest with a kitchen knife. The victim's father, Markus Gabo, reported the incident to local authorities later that evening.

Police operatives from the Mubi North Division responded and found Markus's body in a pool of blood, recovering a sharp kitchen knife at the scene. SP Suleiman Nguroje of the Adamawa State Police Command stated that Augustine is currently in custody as the case is transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, expressed condolences to the deceased's family and assured the public that justice will be served.
