ADC Candidate Calls for Action on Sokoto Insecurity

Manir Dan’iya, the ADC governorship candidate in Sokoto State, condemned the recent killings and mass abductions in Rabah Local Government Area, which he described as a failure of the government to protect its citizens. In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Aminu Abdullahi, on Tuesday, Dan’iya highlighted the killing of a mother and her son, along with the deaths of 10 others and the abduction of approximately 40 individuals in Rabah on Sunday.

He also noted another attack in Tofa village, where seven people were killed and 12 abducted. Dan’iya criticized the APC government for not acknowledging the serious security emergency in Sokoto.

He emphasized the need for effective security measures, including the deployment of personnel and intelligence operations, rather than mere press statements. The state government has allocated N1.75 billion for the procurement of 1,000 motorcycles for security agencies.

Dan’iya urged both the Federal and Sokoto State Governments to enhance their efforts against banditry in the North-West.
