Gobir Advocates Military Action Against Terrorism in Sokoto

Abdullahi Gobir, a former senator and member of the Niger Delta Development Commission, has expressed support for the renewed military offensive against terrorists and bandits in Sokoto State, particularly in Sokoto East. He stated that the ongoing attacks on rural communities pose a significant threat to lives, agriculture, and economic activities.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Gobir called for sustained operations by the Nigerian Army and other security agencies until the criminal networks responsible for violence are dismantled. He commended the efforts of various security organizations and highlighted the importance of intelligence gathering and community cooperation in addressing the security crisis.

Gobir warned against individuals who support or inform criminals, stating that such actions jeopardize security personnel and communities. He urged traditional and community leaders to collaborate with security agencies to enhance intelligence efforts, which are crucial for preventing criminal infiltration and ensuring the safety of residents.
