ADC Selects Zakari for Kwara Governorship Race

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has nominated Zakari, a kinsman of the Kwara State Speaker, as its candidate for the upcoming governorship election in Kwara. The party conducted its primaries on Saturday, where Zakari emerged as the winner.

He emphasized ADC's commitment to inclusivity, aiming to represent the interests of youth, women, artisans, civil servants, and other categories of Nigerians seeking an alternative political platform. Zakari expressed confidence that ADC would gain momentum among dissatisfied Nigerians and maintain significant grassroots influence, particularly in Kwara North, as they prepare for the 2027 elections.

Other candidates announced include Risikat Motunrayo Abdullahi for Kwara Central, Taohe Bala Usman for Kwara North, and Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo for Kwara South. The party also unveiled candidates for various state house assembly positions across the 16 local government areas of Kwara.
