ADC Urges FG to Prioritize Rescue of Kidnap Victims

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) called on the federal government to extend its urgent efforts to rescue kidnap victims in Borno and Kwara states after a successful operation in Oyo State. In a statement issued on Saturday by the party's national public secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC commended the rescue of victims in Oyo but insisted that the government must treat every kidnapping case with equal importance.

The ADC highlighted that 56 individuals have been held captive in Oyo, while over 100 people remain abducted in Kaiama, Kwara State, and students kidnapped in Borno State since May continue to suffer. The party warned against a selective approach to rescue efforts and called for a comprehensive security strategy to address the root causes of insecurity.

They emphasized that the success of rescue operations should not overshadow the plight of other victims and that the government must ensure a safe environment for citizens, particularly children attending school.
